Our Story

Silicon Valley born and raised, on the playground is where Ali spent most of his days…

What would compel a former Muslim turned atheist making Silicon Valley tech money to leave it all and start a church? Simply put – Jesus. CenterSet was birthed from the heart of a true techie, as Pastor Ali spent the last 15 years as a software engineer in Silicon Valley. He understands the objections to faith, the general mistrust of organized religion, and annoyance toward judgemental Christians.

Pastor Ali, along with several other families, were propelled by a vision to share the simple and timeless truths of Scripture to an intelligent and generally irreligious valley!

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.” {Matthew 13:44}

Simply put, we believe when you see Jesus for who he is, He is irresistible as he is the hidden treasure of Christianity. From the beginning, CenterSet has sought to create a church Christians and non-Christians alike would love to attend. No traditions, no secret handshakes, no B.S. – just Jesus.

In January of 2017, CenterSet began gathering with roughly 20 people who also wanted to see people far from God know and follow Jesus. Then in the summer of 2017, CenterSet church launched its first public services @ the Valencia Hotel @ the most well-known outdoor mall in the SouthBay, Santana Row. Why? Because CenterSet was created to reach those far from God!
